Finding A Wife...
Jenny passed
this hilarious link on to me and I'm going to repost a portion here:
The Bible Guide to Wife-Finding
As we all know, Scripture provides precise steps of action for any decision we make in life. Armed only with a Bible and a Strongs concordance, we can unlock the secrets of Scripture and develop helpful training courses for our weaker brothers and sisters. An alert X-er reader recently sent us one such course.
Top 10 Biblical Ways to Acquire a Wife
10. Find a prostitute and marry her. (Hosea 1:1-3)
9. Purchase a piece of property, and get a woman as part of the deal. (Ruth 4:5-10)
8. Find an attractive prisoner of war, bring her home, shave her head, trim her nails, and give her new clothes. Then she's yours. (Deuteronomy 21:11-13)
7. Go to a party and hide. When the women come out to dance, grab one and carry her off to be your wife. (Judges 21:19-25)
6. Cut 200 foreskins off of your future father-in-law's enemies and get his daughter for a wife. (I Samuel 18:27)
5. Become the emperor of a huge nation and hold a beauty contest. (Esther 2:3-4)
4. Find a man with seven daughters, and impress him by watering his flock. (Exodus 2:16-21)
3. When you see someone you like, go home and tell your parents, "I have seen a woman; now get her for me." If your parents question your decision, simply say, "Get her for me. She's the one for me." (Judges 14:1-3) [X-er note: This is not an effective method in ATI circles.]
2. Agree to work seven years in exchange for a woman's hand in marriage. Get tricked into marrying the wrong woman. Then work another seven years for the woman you wanted to marry in the first place. That's right. Fourteen years of toil for a woman. (Genesis 29:15-30) [X-er note: Now that's the ATI way!]
1. Have God create a wife for you while you sleep. Note: this will cost you a rib. (Genesis 2:19-24)

Computers Work and more!
Its been busy here :) Coding away on 3 or so sites right now with another 2 sites contraced today :)
Hopefully I'll be able to make it through my school year ending up debt free working throughout.
Scheduling is brutal this time! GAH. Oh well - I guess having only 4 courses does have its nice side :)
I just delivered a nice new PC and finally got around to setting up a new webcam I got :)
So... I'm attaching my first screen shot of my messy room :)
Scary eh?
Thats the pile of stuff 'to go through'. The sad part is at the deepest is higher than my computer chair...
Interesting Spam
Every so often I get an interesting spam message. I just checked my email today and got something that wasn't like normal spam.
Someone had taken the time to fill out the contact form on my website (not using something automated etc) in order to contact me offering to be my house servant...

There is a market for everything
I'm not sure if this company is just stuck in a rut - never learning with the times or if they have gone back and realized there is a ever growing niche market for old stuff that you can still find at the local dump:
http://www.oldsoftware.com/Commodore.html
Those were the good old days :)
Kudos to whoever owns that shop for keeping in a niche market and not trying to match all the competitors in the big fields.
It was only a year or two ago that NASA had been reported buying lots of 486 computesr off e-bay as they were the only ones that were used ont he space shuttle as they were very hardy to gamma radiation and all the other fun stuff that happens up there. Our new P4 chips just wouldn't match up.
Everyone suspects the space shuttle is a super complicated computing machine - its fairly simply - simple enough to still be running off 486 processors.
Its the design of the shuttle thats the complicated part :)

Mind Your Manners!
Having being brought up by a very 'proper' brittish mother I was always taught how to act so I found this game pretty funny:
Mind Your Manners
How did you do?
Remember - Learning and Doing are two very different things :) *burb*

So after getting over that BestBuy tragedy (lol) I went to check my marks this morning to find I had passed all my courses but one. It was the course with the last exam - the one where most of the sutdents were consuming alcohol or were already tipsy during the final. I just hope I'm not the only one - or that would be pretty sad - failing a final that a drunk could pass :s
This sucks though - I have to figure out what I am going to do. I really don't want to take it in a summer course but if I don't I would be behind a whole year...again
Bah - what a bummer.
Oh well - I"ll wory about that next week when classes start back again.

What a Happy New Year!
Best Buy Won't Hire Me!
So I had 10 minutes to kill and felt like taking an online survey.
Decided I"d take BestBuy's famous online application that tries to trip you up by asking the same questions 5 times in a row with different wording.
I didn't want them to follow up with a call so I gave my name as Joe K Smith (Joke Smith) and 555 - 555 - 5555 as my number.
Told them I would work full time 37.5 hours a week but without working evenings or weekends and that my schedule wasn't flexible.
Looks like they don't want me after all :(
Thank you for your interest in Best Buy Canada. Unfortunately, you do not meet the minimum requirements for this particular position. Your application will be active for 30 days, so there is no need to reapply during this period. Thank you again for considering Best Buy and we wish you all the best in your career endeavours.
They are even smart enough to make sure I dont go back and change my answers! LOL - I guess I couldn't make it as a PC Technician at BestBuy - 'diagnosing' PC's. Which I have found out just means they ship them off to somewhere else where they actually get repaired. They have a replace or reformat only policy when you get your computer fixed. So never take it there! I heard of this company thats just starting up that offers really competitve pricing - GetFixed.ca is their domain - its not live yet though.
If you want to apply to Fry Electronics there is an online quiz you can take for that as well :)...
Apply Online
Enjoy!

P.S. Anyone interested in going to SloCamp Jan 21-23?
P.P.S. Those of you who read this - if you are feeling sick - I hope you feel better soon! I'm only just beginning to feel better!
Another Day...
Thanks to everyone who took the time to read my rant and make a comment on it! :)
I'm starting to see a common theme starting to arise now that people are starting to understand just how big of a deal the tsunami actually was. 9/11 is no longer the 'greatest world terror'.
Creation magazine just published an interesting article on it with some scientific explanations tied into the question of evil etc. (Thanks Debs for sharing that!)
It's sad how politically correct the media needs to be now. CBC did a brief look tonight at how people are dealing with the trajedy 'spriritually' (this aired a few minutes after they tried to trip up a World Vision rep asking him if they only share aid to the world in order to preach at them - he blew them away with his response explaning how its through their loving actions that they share, not through pushing down throats). The researcher that did the writeup for the news program obviously didn't seem to know much about religions or since I last checked all religions worshiped the same God (single). Saying how Hindu's, Muslims and Christians were all praying to God for these people. Last I checked Hindu's weren't monotheistic.
Anyhow - its great to see all the compassion going out to people. Is a nice change to see that the new problem is the flood of planes with supplies all fighting to land...
Its goign to be interesting what becomes of this all in the coming weeks and years as nations are challenged for their compassion or lack thereof.
Oh - and Happy New Year!
