Geeks can be beautiful too!

Just watching the news and they are covering the "Miss Universe" pagent. Oddly enough Canada won :)

I was about to change the channel when they started talking about the winner. Turns out she has a degree in Information Technology (IT) and is a total nerd.

What is the world coming too when a computer geek can win the miss universe pagent?

Strange times.. there is hope for me yet! :D

I've been mulling this over for a long time (were talking years here) and finally today decided I'd actually blog it.

Maybe its the push for equal rights that has made me wonder this (no.. not feminism.. just equal rights and respect).

Many of the things guys do that are considered chivalrious are almost disrespectful - yet are meant to be so? [Click to read the full post]

Bothered.. by a blog?

I wrote last time about RSS and being able to highlight others blogs. This in turn forced me to read the lastest posts everyone wrote as I was in the process of listing my favorite blogs.

I went to work this morning and noticed a new entry posted on one of those. I usually enjoy the read and the small peek into the life of another.. but this time the entry really bothered me.. it ate at me... It was really good.. excellent writing but .. it stuck. [Click to read the full post]

"Cynics do not create nations"

If your gonna fight..

We all have our moments...

I really respect the close friendships I've been able to have with some of my friends. Its never been easy. To say that I consider my ex one of my best friends is one of the hardest things in the world but also one of the most rewarding. Fighting to save a friendship is never easy but the rewards last forever. [Click to read the full post]

But it wasn't me folks!

This sign was at Darien Lake during the Kingdom Bound Festival. If you find it take a pic and let me know :) I'm pretty sure its still there :D

If your from Georgetown you've probably spent some good hours in Timmies.. namely the one on Mountainview. I've logged by hours there... including a few overnights :S

Last christmas I finally got a picture of something someone did to the washroom sign. Only now have I had a chance to post it!

On the topic of Prayer

This is best read slowly and mulled over. Not a quick read through. Each line says alot. Once again - credit is not mine. [Click to read the full post]

The Hero

I've got a great book of little readings that I've found really inspirational over the past few years.. I think I'm going to periodically start posting them. All credit goes to Richard C. Halverson
--

The hero does not set out to be one.
He is probably more surprised than others by such recognition.
He was there when the crisis occurred…
And he responded as he always had in any situation.
He was simply doing what had to be done!
Faitherful where he was in his duty there…
He was ready when the crisis rarose…
Being where he was supposed to be…
Doing what he was supposed to do…
Responding as was his custom…
To circumstances as they developed…
Devoted to duty – he did the heroic.
“Never allow the thought, ‘I am of no use where I am,’ you certinaly are of no use where you are not.” – Oswald Chambers in My Utmost for His Highest.
“It is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.” – 1 Corinthians 4:2
