In my head

When you don't get much of a chance to really site down and talk with those you consider 'good friends' often it leaves the mind to many thoughts. Some good, some bad. Some completely off the wall! [Click to read the full post]

Appearance, Health and Such

I just came in from the pool after taking a long dip to cool off after a hot sweltering day.

Its dark out so that meant time to relax and muse under the starry night with a few whispy clouds in the sky.

I fear this may be one of those blogs that I may end up wanting to just delete or make 'go away'.
So read only if your actually interested. Look at the previous blog entry if your looking for a good laugh ;) [Click to read the full post]

Brrrrent - You just got Prank'd!

For those of you that know Brrrrrent (Brent but he always signs his name with a few extra rrrrr's for effect) know that hes a big prankster.

Now that hes turning all old and everything this year we decided it was time he got some of what he dished out back :)

For those of you who are in the dark I can sum it up by telling you that one time he took the church phone directory and signed everyone up for some kind of bladder control product.

I'm still receiving my bimonthly newsletter from Tena for my female bladder control issues. All the other youth got depends shipped to their house.

We figured it was time to return the favour... [Click to read the full post]

Sleepy

Having a regular work schedules has messed up my sleeping - I can't seem to sleep a full night and then sleepin on my days off. I got a longer than usual sleep today - but it still wasn't much of a sleeping to mention considering I was up pretty late working on something.

Anyhow.. I just had a nice 2 hr nap. went to lie down at 8ish and think.. and sorta conked out. So now I'm in that wonderful place of having already slept for a while.. and trying to goto bed at a reasonable time in order to get to sleep and wake up rested in the morning. Argh.

Somethings in life suck. Somethings are great.

Waiting for God is one of those things...

Why God? Why do I have to go through this.. always knowing that there is something better in the future?

You know your..

Meant to be studying for a final..
An engineering student..

When you do build something like this: Penny Bridges

Found this link of a fellow engineers blog. Top 15 reasons to date a computer geek. I used to consider myself a big geek but I think I've come back down to earth to a 'healthy' level where staying home Friday night to work on a computer project is currently the last thing I want to be doing right now...

Soul Esteem

A friend of mine (thanks Michelle!) shared this with me today. Its something that I think we all need to hear so I'm posting it here.

It from a book "Hugs for Women" by Mary Hollingsworth but its not gender specific and worth reading...

Something that we all need to hear. [Click to read the full post]

Movie Recommendation

A few weeks ago a friend recommended the movie hitch. It finally came out today.
Its definitly a must see movie. Great comedy - although there are a few times when you will cringe in your seat embaressed to be the same gender as the people in the movie.

Can't say I've laughed so hard at someone (err a movie) in a while.

Geek Speak.. and my lack therof

(Blog about Socks is coming soon!)

As many of you know I work for a webhosting company doign remote support. Most of my day is spent in silence with nothing but the tapping of keys and my blaring music.

I type as I think and that gets done at 80-100Wpm usually. So its almost a conversational talking speed.

In the emails I'm using all kinds of acronyms and technical terms to describe and explain things:

"I did a NSLookup on our nameservers and checked your MX record and A record. Both are resolving correctly for me..."

"You may want to check your router IP tables to check for any incorrect entries. A Tracert may help you isolate any timeouts"

Stuff like that.

Just the other day I was trying to explain some things to someone about my work and helping them troubleshoot something. This time I was actually speaking. I felt like a retard trying to proncounce words that I type and hear in my mind without any issues but have NEVER in my life ever had a reason to speak out loud. I was actually stumbling over words I was using trying to sound out expressions and come up with a good way to pronounce an acronym so as not to confuse.

For example "MySQL". To pronounce it as My-Sequel or My-S-Q-L. Which is more correct?

In short I felt like a small child learning to speak for the first time. The thoughts were all there but I just couldn't get them out of my mouth!

Meh.. I guess thats what happens when you work online for a job and after work head out to get away from it all.

C'est la vie!

They synced the Bun:Weiner Ratio!

If you've ever bought hotdogs and buns for a party you will well know that they do not come in equal quantities. Buns coming in a dozen and the hot dogs coming in a pack of 8.

It looks as though this is all to change:

On Fire

I've been listening to Switchfoot on repeat for the last day or so (thanks to a friend that forgot it in my CD player ..heh heh -(was I meant to remind them?).

Driving home after hanging out with a friend tonight I had Switchfoot's 'on fire' playing on repeat in my car. Just driving back from his house out in the country with a clear sky and switchfoot playing in the background really got me thinking about life and the words of the song.

Tonight is just one of those amazing nights. The weather is warm, slighty humid and perfect star watching weather. One of those great contemplating nights where you can open the windows, enjoy the warm air blowing through, relax and be mellow. [Click to read the full post]

I'm still undecided on the whole "miss/mister universe" thing. Maybe I should just take it by world domination? hrmm..

Cause everyone's doing it and its very much like me to be up on all the latest trends and fashions (who am I kidding?).. I'd better blog a list or two... [Click to read the full post]
