Kingdom Bound!!

Left Early this morning to head off to KB 2005! Hopefully everything goes well and we don't have any issues at the border. Who knows maybe they will think we are with the whitby group again?

Its always fun sitting at the border with hundreds of other cars all decked up and decorated with Kingdom Bound and Christian sayings - something you don't see that often in the streets...

Anyhow.. not much happening today - its a day to get settled in.. make some friends, meet the neighbours and chillax. Though I'll probably be seeing Reggie Dabbs tonight at 8:30.

To dye or not to dye..

I"ve been thinking of dying my hair for Kingdom Bound each year.. I just never get around to it. This year is the closest I've made it so far now that they have that semi permanent hair die.

You've probably seen the commercials for it.

Anyhow.. the colour I was going to do is Blue..

Should I? Or not? [Click to read the full post]

Pictures Posted

More coming in tommorrow's entry but I spent the day today clearing my desk, invoicing clients and other fun stuff like that.

I found some old pictures from the BCA reunion (high school) back when we first got together after school was out.. before everyone got all mature...
BCA Reunion Pics

I also found the REALLY old pictures from the infamous Balsam lake trip.
For those of you who heard the stories.. it was the trip:
- With the midnight bear (Matt)
- Uninvited suprise guests.. including those who ran onto the site with lit explosives at 1am
- The super packed car full of food with one 2 seats in it
- The first (of many) cakes
- The card with flowers provided by Stephen and Pete
- Veronica getting lost and driving by our site for a few hours.. faster and faster each time
- Being stopped 3 times for 120km/hr in a 20..
- Matt getting shot at point blank for $5.00

And you thought your town was small...

As most of you know I live in a pretty small town that the censes claims has about 1000 people... I'm guessing its more like 250.

Just found a link to this country.. population - 46 (down from 50):

Pitcairns

Apparently one quarter of the labour force was arrested Oct 2004 - putting their whole economy in jeopardy.

...and I thought my town was small!

Lack of Fashion Sense

So I decided on a whim last night to get some new clothes - or at least to try. Ok maybe not so much a 'whim' but more of a 'nothing but rags left' attitude.

I was in a bit of a strange mood so I decided I'd be a little daring and get something a little unusualy for plain boring khaki me. [Click to read the full post]

Who Are You?

I was going to rant and rave about things going through my head. But I'll spare the public of those thoughts - however good or bad they were ;)

One of my best times to think is when I drive - especially when I can hear above the music. I drove for the first time in ages today without any music playing - it was eeire until my mind started to whir.

So here is a blogified question version of my thoughts: What kind of person are you? [Click to read the full post]

KB - Day 1

Left early this morning to hit the border before the 'rush'. Its always fun - tons of people all going to the same place. Its not often you see hundreds of cars with "Kingdom bound" and christian sayings scrawled on the side in todays culture.

There isn't too much of interest today - its just a day to setup our sites and get to know the neighbours. Reggie Dabbs is speaking at 8:30 tonight so there is a pretty good chance I"ll be there!

Leon's Failed Me.. and other thoughts

So yesterday was the big day for my couch delivery. I spent the day helping my brother mine under his house - I'll have to post pictures. Its next to impossible to explain.. and you probably wouldn't beleive me if I tried. If you ever saw The Great Escape its like that. right down to the long tunnel with lights along it and the railway track with the cars you roll on... Hopefully I"ll post some pictures to explain it. A few things to 'top off' a good day

Some days are great! But there are always those little things that can put an even bigger smile on ones face :)

So pathetic and simply but driving home tonight I bought gas.. and it was temporarily low (Everywhere else was $0.90/Litre or higher) and so I got gas for 79.9 cents a litre on my way home :)

Saved a good 5 bucks on a full tank of gas :)

Not to mention a free car wash in the deal (from Points)

Saweet!

Lol.. simple things.. simple mind? .. Maybe :)

On the topic of Friends vs. Relationships

As I said in my last entry I don't have that many really good friends but I really appreciate the ones I do have however.

I was musing the other day. It was either during a long drive or while I was cutting the grass. One of those great thinking times either way... [Click to read the full post]

So Excited!

Some of you noticed that little addition to my MSN name - "So Excited" for the last fews days. Nothing really much behind it other than I was feeling really encouraged and eager to live out life - even for the smallest purpose of cleaning out my room.

So I figured I'd list a few things to be thankful in the day. [Click to read the full post]

Kudos to Bell

After my early rant today I woke up to find a Bell repairman at my door bright and early to fix the phone line. For some reasons he had called in to work and asked if there was anything he could do to help (technicians on strike). They sent him for some reason to our house (maybe we are a top client with 4 lines in the residence?).

Anyhow - he just finished now (3pm) and had to patch the transmission lines for several KM's back to the main office. Turns out somewhere along the line it got fried.

Sounds like divine intervention getting ahead of a 5 day queue!

Well - all is well now :) I"m happy and they are even touching up the other lines to improve their connection quality :)

Bell - Thanks to that one sole repairman that came in on his own accord - you've got a still happy customer.

Why Bell made my 'list'...

Its a pretty well known fact that most of us rely on our phone lines in some way shape or form. Be it for internet, emergency, or just social connectivity.

During the storm yesterday something happened to our main phone line taking it out... [Click to read the full post]

For every action...

"For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" - Newton.

You've probably heard that one in school somewhere - most likely in the science lab. Its one of the most basic laws of life.

But, I don't plan on blogging about science and scientific chains of events and reactions so I'll spare you dear reader :)

What I do want to muse on for a bit is human interaction; how we influence and play such a vital roles in each others lives. [Click to read the full post]

Movie Recommendations?

I've got two days off and one of the things I like to do either on my own or with whoever is free is to rent a bunch of movies and watch them :)

Pretty simple concept. Problem is - I've started to run out of good movies to see.

So as you may have guessed - I'm open to all recommendations. [Click to read the full post]

Majesty

Tonight was one of those 'relax' nights. Its been a long day - starting bright and early in the morning :)

I was flipping channels tonight and just musing and came across "Most Requested" on CTS. They were playing Majesty by Delirious. Nothing extraordinary about the song except that I actually paid close attention to the lyrics and what they were saying. [Click to read the full post]

Proverbial Thoughts

I opened my devotional randomnly the other day and found its passage was Proverbs 15.

One of the more interesting things was a comment on the human condition to complain and always look at the bad side of life. The example given was road construction. We have all quietly (if not very loudly!) expressed our contempt with the road being blocked by construction. It always seems like they have bitten off more than they can chew and torn up the whole road leaving only half a lane on a multilane highway while a few of them work on the large open section. Our little perspective in life never bothers to look at the big picture and realize that it takes a few weeks of delayed traffic to give us those fixed potholes and that extra lane or two of traffic. Sometimes the suffering seems so bad that we neglect to look at how it will be saving us an extra 5 minutes off our commute each day when the traffic flows better thanks to an expanded road or fixed potholes. Chocolate Porn?

Don't worry.. nothing sketchy ;)

A friend of mine made the mistake of blogging on a commercial they saw:
"I remember a few months ago I saw this commercial on tv for lindor chocolates. It showes chocolate pouring down like a beautiful waterfall into a shell of hard chocolate. Oh my goodness! Commercials like that should be rated R. It's like chocolate porn! *Laugh* don't get the wrong idea."

Have you ever thought about it?

I'm a big pyro - to the point that the SWAT team got called to my house once for explosions...
So don't think I"m bashing the pyro industry or fire in general. I may be an amateur pyro but I have made all the different genres of fireworks except aerial shells.

Tonight I saw one of the best pyro shows I've seen in a while (fireworks). The most amazing part is that it took place in Acton of all places. I expected to see 4.. maybe five little fireworks go off (lit by hand of course). We were treated by a full aerial 50 min long show with an impressive finale.

I'm convinced they spent the whole town budget on it! [Click to read the full post]
