Happy New Years!

Welcome to 2007!

Its a new year, and I just got back from my New Years party (Jan 3rd). Yes, it was that good.

So what are your resolutions for the new year? I intend to have more fun this year, do some really interesting thing, and try to spend some more quality time with my key friends. I've been so busy with everything in my life I feel like I've neglected some of the most important people in my life.

So Ed, what did you do for new years?

Well.. like last year I went up to my Cousin's in Ottawa to party with them. This year I went on my own, I couldn't even convince Ash to come with me (although I don't blame her.. a quite night with sleep, peace and quiet is quite a good idea). My Cousins throw quite an impressive party. Andrew (my age), along with his crazy (yet very fun) sisters built a skating rink using snow from their front yard. Altogether I think over 150 invites went out, and many people showed up. It was a night that started off as more of a wine and cheese get together, and quickly improved into a thriving party. With a sound proofed dance room, a real DJ and a nice sound system, along with a full pyro show and ice hockey until the wee hours of the morning.

Cousins

On the way up I had the pleasure of picking up the pyro for the night and got to detour to Canada's biggest distributor of fireworks. Basically a little heaven on earth for me! I almost took some picture of the place, but that would be too nerdy. So needless to say, the remaining space in my car was filled with boxes labelled with orange squares with explosive ratings on them :)

Skating

Playing hockey was rather interesting to say the least - there was over an inch of slush on the ice thanks to the freezing rain. Slapshots meant you'd turn around to avoid the slush and then when it fell you'd try to find the puck.

Party Room

It was a blast to say the least!

The following days we threw another party with many people coming a second time for a night of hockey.

As a plus, I also got a private tour of the Notre Dame Bascillica where my cousin is the organist. We got to go up the bell towers, and even had a private organ recital there.

Yeah.. it was a real blast :) Compared to 2006 - there was more of an age mix with a good 15 younger people there.
